Long time comin’, but finally here! Villain Family is proud to announce the release of our 1st full length album, Southern Lovers ! A record of 12 original songs, some long time, back bone songs like “Yuma” and “Waitin’ in Vain” and Fan Favorites “In the Evening”, “The Line Cook Song”, & “The Manatee Song” to new compositions like the title track, “Southern Lovers” and “If I Knew the Words”. This record reflects the history of the band as it has grown over the years and shows the endless possibilities for the future of the band’s music.

A record of 12 original songs, some long time, back bone songs like “Yuma” and “Waitin’ in Vain” and Fan Favorites “In the Evening”, “The Line Cook Song”, & “The Manatee Song” to new compositions like the title track, “Southern Lovers” and “If I Knew the Words”. This record reflects the history of the band as it has grown over the years and shows the endless possibilities for the future of the band’s music.
Throughout the album the band engages a host of genres and reconnects them seamlessly into a cohesive representation of what pop music is shaping into. Fused with inspired performances and dynamic shifts the blending of styles and approaches have deconstructed and reassembled previous notions of what a song should be. These songs not only are a synthesis times and forms but also each is a homage and an offering to see what makes the musical roots so incalculable in there ability to transcend generations.

Basically, the record kicks ass.

We are all very proud of what we have achieved as a individual musicians and as a team. We are also sure of that joy that went into it will be shared coming out as well.

Me, Oh My! Have We Been Busy! or How I Spent Autumn with Villain Family

October saw us playing our neighborhood venue Twain’s, traveling to the suburbs to perform at The Old Crow Tavern in Sandy Springs with our friends, Waller and even went on up to Chattanooga and rocked out at JJ’s Bohemia with Megan Jean & The KFB. November found us back on the block with the oddest line up ever on one of the strangest nights in a while. With the power out in most of the neighborhood The Star Bar shone like a beacon in the night. We were joined by a French duo known as Inspector Cluzo who taught us all what it meant and how to dance to it. Tornado Rider closed out with the insanity that is tweaked out cello fueled punk. We played and Glory Blasted and birthday bashed and generally did the dang thang. A handful of hours later we were at Chomp and Stomp guzzling chili and beer (yes. sometimes you drink chili) our sets have been well received and we have felt very positive concerning our sound and growth. A lot lays ahead for us and there will be an incredible amount of new music. We hope y’all like it!
